[Report] SDC CNY Open House 2012

For those who are not familiar with the tradition of "OPEN HOUSE". In Malaysia, during our own festival, we would invite all our friends, regardless of race and religion, to come to our house to celebrate the festival together. During which, we would eat and play together.

It is said that such tradition nurture understanding and friendship, and hence foster racial harmony. When we were planning our event for Chinese new Year, we thought it would be a great thing, if we could also organise an CNY Open House.

This Year is the first time we held an Chinese New Year in such scale. We are very delighted at the result and the outcome of the event.

Among the events that we planned are:
Yee Sang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yusheng) ;
Lion Dance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lion_Dance);
firecracker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_cracker) ...etc

As for the Yee Sang, Mrs Mah and Christine Liew, gotten the help of other members and friends, prepare a vegetarian version of the dish. We had great fun "Lou Sang", especially the Lion Dance Troupe were late - they were delayed by the traffic; and we all were feeling very hungry!

Having Fun

Yeah! For A Great Year Ahead!!!

Then the Lion Dance Troupe arrived,

Then the Buffet Dinner,

Then the rest of the activities

It made us really feel happy that so many people came and we all had so much fun, especially the younger ones! It makes really looking forward to the next open house.

We would like to wish Everyone a VERY Happy New Year.
May the Year of The Dragon bring all of you plenty of Good Health, Joy and Happiness!!
